"Step 1"
To start the Volunteer Process at the American Red Cross, all new volunteers must do the following:
- Attend a new Volunteer Orientation/Disaster Services: An Overview Class (a 3 ½ hour time commitment). The Volunteer Orientation is your basic introduction to the American Red Cross and it is where you will fill out all your required paperwork. Disaster Services: an Overview introduces potential Disaster Volunteers to the role of the Red Cross in the community actions in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies and disasters.
- Submit to a Red Cross background check. More information will be provided at your Orientation.
Unless otherwise specified the classes take place at our chapter offices at:
- 8085 Rivers Ave. Suite F, North Charleston SC, or
- 59 Sheridan Park Circle, Bluffton SC
